Newhouser Receives National Coaching Award
Our congratulations to Mr. Jason Newhouser, Jefferson High School Speech and Debate Coach, for earning the distinction of Diamond Coach by the National Speech and Debate Association. Mr. Newhouser received a First Diamond Award after earning 1,500 points on February 9, 2015. A Diamond Award recognizes a professional career that combines excellence and longevity. Special recognition will be given to Mr. Newhouser at the National Speech and Debate Tournament in Dallas, Texas on June 18, 2015. Click here for additional information.

The Lafayette School Corporation Board of Trustees is seeking a person to fill a vacant position on the Board. A candidate must have established residency for at least one year in District 3 of the Lafayette School Corporation District prior to February 9, 2015. District 3 includes the Precincts 29 and 33 of Fairfield Township and Precincts 3, 4 and 8 of Wea Township. Click here for a map of District 3. Substitute Teacher Candidate Information
The LSC is looking for great substitute teachers! Apply on-line through the Human Resource link above. Please complete a classified application. 60 college credits, a sub-permit from the state and a completed criminal history check are required. Pay is $70 per day with a bonus after completing the 10th day!
2015 Kindergarten Roundup
LSC students that will be enrolling in Kindergarten in the fall of 2015 should register on March 17th from 4 pm to 7pm at their Elementary School. Students must be 5 years of age by August 1, 2015.
